Walls & Soundproofing

Walls do two jobs: they keep conditioned air in, and noise out. When they are empty or poorly insulated, you'll notice drafty rooms and walls that feel cold to the touch. Can you hear conversations, TVs, or flushing toilets throughout the house? You may need to upgrade your wall insulation.

Swansboro Insulation installs fiberglass batt insulation, carefully fitted and sealed around wiring and plumbing in new construction and additions. We can blow-in cellulose insulation for existing walls. Servicing Swansboro and the Crystal Coast.

The Wall Upgrade You Feel
Every Single Day

of homes in our area are under-insulated.

If your house was built more than a decade ago, there is a good chance the wall cavities are empty, thinly filled, or settled at the bottom. A FREE onsite inspection tells you which one you are dealing with.

Insulating walls costs far less than new windows or a new HVAC system, and you notice it right away. Rooms hold their temperature, exterior walls stop feeling cold to the touch, and the house gets noticeably quieter from room to room.

Our Process

How We Install It

Fitted, not stuffed

A batt that is jammed, compressed or gapped loses a big share of its R-value. fit each batt around outlets, wiring, plumbing and framing so the cavity is filled completely, without compression.

Sealed at the details

We air seal windows and doors; small gaps let air and sound bypass even a well-filled wall. We seal those details as we go, so the finished wall performs as one continuous barrier.

Soundproofing where it counts

For interior walls, we target the rooms where quiet matters most: bedrooms, home offices, media rooms, and walls shared with bathrooms or laundry. Insulated interior walls will not make a room silent, but the difference is worth it.

What Proper Wall
Insulation Changes

Steadier temperatures

Insulated exterior walls stop the outdoors from pulling heat out in winter and pushing it in all summer.

Lower energy bills

Your HVAC cycles less when the walls are insulated to keep conditioned air inside.

Quieter rooms

Insulated interior walls take the edge off sound between bedrooms, bathrooms, offices and living areas.

More comfortable coastal living

In our humid climate, a properly sealed wall helps keep damp air outside where it belongs.

FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

Can you insulate walls in an existing home without tearing them open?

It depends on the wall and the access we have. During remodels and renovations, open walls are the ideal time to insulate. For closed walls, we will take a look and provide a resolution.

Yes. Fiberglass batts and blow-in cellulose insulation in interior walls absorb a meaningful amount of airborne sound between rooms. It will not make a home theater silent, but voices, TVs and plumbing noise drop noticeably.
